Welcome to our online roulette guide for strategy and betting systems you can use when playing roulette games at online casinos

Online Roulette

Roulette gets its name from the French word for wheel. roulette casinoThe game is an ancient game and is believed to be a conjunction of many wheel games that were in existence in early England. The current form of the game has been in existence from as early as 1796 in Paris. The game is played using a wheel with a tilted circular track running around the circumference of the wheel. The wheel has a number of pockets which are numbered from 1 to 36 which are alternatively colored red and black. In the European game there is one green pocket numbered 0. In the American version there is a second pocket numbered 00 or double zero. The players begin the game by placing their bets. They can choose to place a bet on a number, a range of numbers, the color red or black, or whether the number is odd or even. The croupier then spins the wheel in one direction and spins a small ball in the opposite direction along the track of the wheel. The ball eventually loses momentum and falls into one of the pockets. The pocket into where the ball is present when the wheel stops spinning determines the winning number and color for that round. It must be noted that 0 and 00 are neither odd nor even.

Roulette Strategy

The problem with roulette is that it has always been a game of pure chance. The house or casino always holds an advantage. For example, if a player bets on a single number in the American game, the probability of winning 35 times the bet is a 1 in 38 chance, while there is a 37 in 38 chance that the player will lose the bet. The house edge is the amount the player loses relative to any bet made, on average. The house edge when a player bets on a single number in the American game is 5.26% and 2.70% in the European game.
The existence of this house advantage or edge makes it very likely that the player will lose money. The idea of adopting a roulette betting strategy is to ensure that in the long run, you will make a profit, or at the very least neutralize your losses. Over the years there have been many betting strategies that players have used with some success, and this article is intended to give you a brief overview of these strategies, so that you can make an informed decision the next time you bet on a roulette wheel.

Martingale Betting Strategy

Most people believe that it is impossible to win consistently at roulette, despite this; the many even bets made have inspired players to try to beat the odds by using different versions of the Martingale betting strategy. The basic idea of this strategy is to double the bet you make every time you hit a loss, in this manner whenever there is a win, any losses made earlier are recovered along with a profit amount equaling the initial bet. This strategy is generally thought to be impractical, since studies show a long term result of a huge financial loss.

Fibonacci roulette

There is also another strategy where the player’s wagers are planned based on the Fibonacci series where the first two terms are 1 and 1 and the subsequent numbers are the sum of the preceding two numbers of the series for example 1,1,2 (1+1), 3 (2+1), 5 (3+2) and so on. However it has been proven statistically that strategies based on a specific progression can not overcome the casino’s advantage.
24/7 Strategy: There is approximately a 61% chance of winning in this method. The essential idea of this method is to split the roulette session total amount into 35 sections, and this amount is wagered on a certain numeral for a total of 35 spins, and should this number win at any one time, the player will win back his original amount.

Labouchere Roulette System

Like the Martingale system, this system is also a sequence betting format. It works by utilizing a succession of numbers to decide the wager amount after a player wins or loses. The player then sums the total value of the numbers in the front section of the line to evaluate the amount of the succeeding wager. If there is a win, the player strikes off the outer numbers and goes on to the lesser line of numbers. If there is a loss, the player then adds the last wager to the final section of the line and moves along a bigger line. Although not as dramatic as the Martingale system, this Labouchere roulette strategy allows players to manage the line as he or she pleases.

D’Alembert Roulette Betting System

This system is a sort of hierarchy or pyramid format and it is designed based on an equilibrium theory formulated by the French mathematician D’Alembert. The system is used on the even bets made on the outside and helps the player keep wagers to a minimum.
At every loss, the player adds a unit to the succeeding wager. After every win, the player reduces a unit from the succeeding wager. The beauty of this system is that when the total of wins is the same as the total of losses, the player would have earned a total of the winning games played.
Utilizing the Dozen Bet: The single dozen bet and the double dozen bet are two variations of this system. The single double system means the player will utilize an increasing wager list which starts at the table minimum up going on to the highest limit. The goal is to utilize a dozen bet to earn a win before your list ends. There are many methods used to achieve this end.

Roulette Column Strategy

This strategy uses a simple method of execution and is based on the layout of the roulette table. Basically, if you place a wager of 2 on the first column and another similar wager on the third column, you would have covered almost all the red numerals, a final wager of 2 on the black numbers covers the occurrence of a black. This system takes care of all the roulette numbers with the exception of four reds and the 0 and 00. This strategy lets you break even in the long run. These are the most common strategies used to ensure that players minimize their losses and maximize their wins.

Online roulette minimum and maximum bets

Roulette is an age old casino game, but if you have never played it before then when you first see the layout along with players scrambling around the table placing bets it can be intimidating, and can often put first time players off! But is really is one of the simplest of games to both play and master, and we have compiled the following guide to help you get your head around the different variations of roulette that can be found online and offline.  Let’s start with the basics, firstly every player gets given a different colour of chips to play roulette with, once you have given the dealer some cash he or she will then allocate you a chip colour and also if the game is multi stakes you will be asked to set a value of each chip. If you glance at the side of the wheel there is a small sign which will tell you the minimum and maximum bets permitted by each player on each spin of the wheel, pay careful attention to this as the dealer will remove or ask you to place further chips on the table if you don’t place the table minimum required.  You are only allowed to place your chips on the roulette table layout once the dealer has cleared all the previous games chips from the layout, and paid out any winners, once this is done you can put your chips anywhere but only until such a time as the dealer says “no more bets please”.  Once this has been said the dealer will then start to spin the roulette ball which will be set in motion in the opposite direction from what the wheel is spinning, once the ball has landed she will then announce the winning number verbally as well as placing a small marker on the winning number on the layout.  She will then payout all winning wagers and removing losing ones from the table and then the betting cycle will start all over again.  There are four different types of roulette games available, and we will attempt to show you the main differences in each along with the different betting options available.  The first game we shall cover is the game of American Roulette
